Helping young professionals succeed in work and life
So, being an events co-ordinator I am always on the look out for new concepts and ideas. Just coming from the Perth Event Show - which was held over the weekend, I have walked away with a head full of knowledge and some ideas to implement here at work.
One concept was "Green Events" - reducing waste at events, making them sustainable and offsetting carbon to reduce emmissions etc. I have a few ideas which I can implement - printing on less paper, emailing out registration confirmations and implementing our new online registration process (oh yes, we are THAT behind!). I have also set a meeting between me and the hotel we regularly use for our events, to find out if they have a "Green Policy" in place, to see if we can incorporate with it.
But I am wanting to do something more than that - I just don't know what, so I thought I would bring it to the Emergen Table, to see if you had any ideas to contribute - what kind of things/ideas would you like to see happening at Events to make them more Green or more sustainable to our environment?

catering: all food to be served in recyclable dishes, i.e no plastic cups plates etc.
also for smaller events i think organic or locally produced food adds a great extra.
hold all events in an area/location that is accessible via public transport and make sure to encourage this in the invites/registration.
