Blogging for a Cause: National Volunteer Week - Inspiring the Volunteer in You! May 9 - 15

What is Blogging for a Cause (BFAC)?

Throughout the year, Emergen will be choosing different causes, themes and issues to encourage members to blog about, providing them with an opportunity to share their thoughts and to get informed about issues and create positive social change via the internet!

What's involved?

The second BFAC event will be a week long focus on National Volunteer Week (9 May to 15 May 2011), with the theme 'Inspiring the Volunteer in You'.

  • Compose a blog post using the theme 'Inspiring the Volunteer in You' as inspiration;
  • Post it to the Emergen website during National Volunteer Week 9-15 May 2011;
  • Comment on other Emergen members posts, and share via social media (Twitter hashtag: #Emergen and #NVW).

We at Emergen want to do our bit to encourage the volunteering spirit, and one of the ways we want to do this is through the use of social media - particularly blogging!

How can you spread the word?

We would like to engage as many people as possible, so please invite your friends on Emergen or Facebook using the 'Blogging for a Cause - National Volunteer Week' events that have been created on each site, like the event in your Facebook status, share it with your colleagues, and let your friends know too!

There is no registration required - all you have to do is write your blog post and post on Emergen during the week of 9-15 May 2011.

What if I'm unable to post during the week of 9-15 May 2011?

You can schedule your blog post to post during the week of 9-15 May. Simply go to 'Add a Blog Post' and choose the date and time you want it scheduled to post!
