Hate Against the “Typical Woman” (A Little Rant: take with a pinch of salt! ;p)

That’s right- I’m hatin’! And not even trying to hide it… I can read a map. I can’t drive an automatic car- I only drive manual. I always reverse park. I need to move from noise to answer a call, and really listen. I prefer straight talk to cues and euphemisms. I’m sick of this stereotype of who women, or anyone, is supposed to be! There was a comment on Youtube, in response to the video “Sh*t Girls Say” (Yes, I waste some time watching comedic crap… Actually you should check out some of these…See More

Lessons from Japan (6 months on....)

"Gaman". I think this will be a word I'll be incorporating into my vocabulary. These are some thoughts I had initially after the earthquake. Recently I came across them again, and felt to share. I can't find the original article, unfortunately, that moved me so. However I've attached some other articles underneath, that I stumbled upon. I hope that we can learn some lessons from Japan...: Lessons from JapanI never thought there would be any good from this earthquake. I never thought there would…See More

We all want to be world-changers and difference-makers, don’t we? I get misty-eyed when all the emotions ARC brought to me come flooding back. Nestled in Melbourne’s inner city at the gorgeous Jasper Hotel, Rotaractors from around Australia united for the first ever official Australian Rotaract Conference, 24th – 25th September 2011. People Who Inspire Me

“It’s been too long Emergen. Time to fill your spaces with the places my mind has been…” This is from a long time ago, when I thought about those who inspired me: When I sat down to dinner and drinks, with the girls on Wednesday night, I had not been thinking about inspiration. But it came to me. It’s a cold night, when the weather’s changing. The breeze fresh and crisp, a stark contrast to what we had before. But I’m all warm inside, from having this wonderful talk. Wednesday night, drinks…See More
