Great uplifting post Janine! Sometimes people do not realise how their negativity impacts the moods of others. And likewise, with positivity. I remember having a terrible morning and out of the blue, my friend popped around my desk with a smile so…

A is for Attitude

Do you bask in positivity or dwell in the land of the negative? Do you jump out of bed in the morning and seize the day, or do you slump out of bed and drag yourself through the day, wishing for it to be over? Do you see the glass as half full, or do you see it as half empty? Your experiences, education and personality help shape your attitude to everything around you. And your attitude will affect how you…See More

Great first blog post Monica! Short, succint, and food for thought!    You are so right. We CAN achieve anything we want to do if only we OPEN our eyes and go for it.  It may not happen overnight, but it will happen!

The Power of Positivity

Don’t knock the power of positivityI was once incredibly critical about myself in every way – the depression didn’t help, but the self-deprecating thoughts didn’t help the depression either. Kind of a vicious circle really. AffirmationsOver the years I’ve endeavoured to overcome this. One of the ways that I have…See More

A major part of the Emergen online community is blogging.   In 2011 the Emergen blogging community exploded, with the return of beloved bloggers from the years previous, and a new generation of first-time Emergen bloggers emerging (most who were first-time bloggers!). These Emergen members posted on everything from…See More

Listen To Your Inner Truth and Expect Miracles

Today I share with you a video that Alicia Curtis recently shared with me at the perfect time: as 2011 came to a close and the dawn of a new year was upon us. The following is a TED talk from motivational speaker, life coach and author Gabrielle Bernstein.  She talks about finding your inner truth, letting go of you holding you back, forgiveness and miracles. I hope you get as much from it as I did, and thank you again Alicia. See More

Profile Information

About Me:
A little about me:

I am 33, and have a love for travel, writing, blogging, reading, music, my partner, my dog, my family and friends. I have a Bachelors degree in Communications, Majoring in Film and Media, and have worked in Project Management for the last 6 years. I have just achieved P3O accreditation…so aim to explore that more as driver of mine is good governance.

At all other hours I am a writer and blogger extraordinaire (this is my real passion). At the moment I’m the National Blogging Coordinator for Emergen, which is focussed on activating young people across Australia to step up into leadership roles in their community. In my role, I aim to encourage others to use blogging as a tool for social change.

You may be wondering about the title of my blog?

1) I’m a red-head, and like most red-heads, have been teased most of my life for it. I actually hated the colour of my hair for years, but I now embrace my ‘red-headedness’ and want to champion the cause for others to do the same – for we all have something we don’t like about ourselves. YOU are who you are, and your uniqueness is what makes YOU special.

2) I do a lot of reflecting. On life, love, family, friends, writing, blogging, pets, other bloggers, depression, travel…we all go through it, and sometimes sharing our stories can actually help. Sharing my story helps me, and I hope that it can help you to. Feel free to share yours with me.
