About Me:
Alicia Curtis’s capacity to be a leader emerged early on in her life, when she co-founded the kids environmental conference Kids Helping Kids at 12 years old, after being inspired at an International United Nations Conference. Kids Helping Kids has since transformed into the youth-run organisation Millenium Kids, and has helped thousands of young people start environmental projects nationally and internationally. Since then, she has used these skills,
along with her entrepreneurial spirit to start her own business at 19, run as an independent candidate for the Federal Senate at 21, and actively participate in several organisations in the community.

Alicia has taken on a wide variety of leadership positions such as Chair of the National Young Business and Professional Women Board, State President of the National Speakers Association and a mentor on the Millennium Kids Youth Board. She has been the recipient of the WA Young Australian of the Year Award in the Environment category, and in 2007 was awarded the Kerrie Nairn Scholarship for Public Speaking from the National Speakers Association of Australia. Also in 2007, Alicia was a finalist in the WA Telstra Businesswomen’s Awards in both the Business and Young Businesswoman categories.

Having completed her Masters degree in Leadership and Management at Curtin, Alicia continues to run her business, Alicia Curtis Leadership, as a keynote speaker and leadership trainer providing presentations to businesses about harnessing the potential of Generation Y in the workplace and community.

Alicia has recently launched a new blog called Revolutionary Lives which you can visit at www.revolutionarylives.com

    The Meaning of Cultural Diversity

    Posted on February 15, 2012 at 9:13am 0 Comments

We live in global world.  And in Australia, like many other areas in the world, we live in a multicultural society.  What does that mean for you? Do you embrace this cultural diversity?

Last weekend, I got to facilitate a weekend retreat with 25 young women from a wide range of cultural backgrounds - we had young women from Zambia, Somalia, South Africa, Iraq, Spain, Maldives, Malaysia, China, India and more.  We shared stories, challenged our assumptions and learnt more about…

10 Questions to Get Ready for 2012

    Posted on January 17, 2012 at 8:03pm 0 Comments

I posted 10 Questions to Reflect on 2011 -  You can read the post here.  Throughout the week, I got my A3 pad out myself and answered every single question.  It took a couple of hours to finish, but it gave me a great way to reflect on the year I'd just had! You can see all my brainstorms to the left.

Some of my overall reflections and themes from my answers were:

    10 Reflection Questions for 2011

    Posted on December 13, 2011 at 6:00am 1 Comment

Yesterday I asked myself in my journal “What questions should I ask myself to reflect on this year?”.  I wanted to purely reflect on this year before thinking about next year.  It was hard not to get into questions like…so what would I do differently next year?  I wanted to really focus on this year first.

So here are my questions below. Please add any further ideas for questions in the comments box below.   I’m going to spend this week answering them for myself and then I will…

Hey, perth is boring. do you want to arrange such event as the hive in Melbourne, we can invite successful entrepreneurs to come and do a speech. and gather a number of entrepreneurs ? I give a hand.

Michael Malone the iinet man seems a very great man. i think he would be kind enough to come and start. and we find out others on the way.

Cool, up stair is a great plan. Brass Money in Northbridge is also a good place as it's not difficult to find parking places. About the time. May i suggest 6.00, as many people like myself finished work at 5.30 or even later. Thank you. I will be there.

Yep . good thanks Alicia. But why wouldnt we choose a quiet places, i'm surprised when it is so often a meeting like this is organised in pub while it is the noisiest place when you need to scream at me to get me heard.
