Alicia Curtis from the yGen club will interview Adam Smith, CEO of the Foundation of Young Australians (http://www.fya.org.au) on his pathway to leadership as well as Sue-maree McEnearney, a Communications Expert (http://www.suemaree.com) about how to face difficult conversations on your journey to the top.

In particular, Sue-maree will explore how to make difficult conversations easy with practical, no-nonsense insight into how people relate to each other: what hurts, and what works. We’ll explore what causes communication problems, what we might be doing to contribute to problems, and what we can do differently — regardless of where we are and who we’re talking to.

How to:
  • communicate without confronting
  • say what we think without being critical
  • ask for what we want without being demanding
  • be discerning without being judgmental
  • say no without feeling guilty
  • disagree without arguing
  • be honest without being brutal
  • be confident without being arrogant
  • be accepting of others without being a doormat,
  • stand up for ourselves without being a bully.
