Helping young professionals succeed in work and life
Hey there,
I wanted to hear your opinion on this one. One could call it market research..
When you buy a greeting card - what do you look for:
- Simplistic modern design?
- longer/personal messages pre-written inside?
- blank inside with space to write your own message?
- Quirky and original?
- just typography?
- inspiring/appropriate image?
- humour?
- oversized or undersized?
Do you buy from mainstream shops (like a newsagency) or boutiques?
Feel free to elaborate on your choices...

I prefer to go to boutique gift / card stores as news agencies usualy have a pretty poor range to choose from.
I'm known to be incredibly anal with my card choosing - the card needs to scream of the person I am buying it for (And yes - I've kept almost every card I've ever had).
Permalink Reply by Zulaiha Abdul Jalil on September 14, 2011 at 8:53am It all depends on the purpose of sending the greeting card and the card itself should reflect how much the person meant to you. Get a card that reminds you of the person who is about to receive it.
Permalink Reply by Fayann D'souza on September 15, 2011 at 7:30am I tend to buy cards that have some words written, but I love receiving notes, and I feel like a personal written message has so much more meaning too....
With the ones that have humour...those are obviously for people who can take a joke and like a laugh...
Kind of agree with the comments, it very much depends on the person who is recieving the card....
and there are no limits in terms of what you can do with design and layout. greetings cards can be an art form too...thats what me thinks :) hope that helps you Suzanne
