Emergen

Helping young professionals succeed in work and life

Hi all,

Janine and I was sharing a glass one night when we had the idea of an Emergen wine and cheese night to replace one of our monthly meetups. The details are yet to be decided, so I'm just putting it out there to see if anyone would be interested in this.

Would you come to a wine and cheese night if we had one?

AND is there a great venue or theme/topic you would suggest for the evening?

Yes, I'd come! But I'd pass on the wine (don't drink alcohol). But love cheese and good conversations!

You know I'm in : )

Sounds like a great idea! Would certainly come along

Hi Chloe,

How about we have a wine/cheese night and couple that with a group discussion about either creating opportunities for a combined 'project' (I see potential in the Rotaract-Emergen-and other groups merging) This could be a social help/business building/creative enterprise/group building project - lots of possibility.

Because Emergen is just starting up, it would/could be seen as an opportunity to actually discuss where we could bring our different skills to make a difference somewhere. My hope is that when there is talk and exchange about something that the 'Emergens' are passionate about, then some kind of movement can take place, ie if that is what we are hoping for Emergen as a group.

What Emergen has done really well so far is create a platform where people can share what they are about and what they really care about -  I personally see a lot of potential in sharing one's brand by blogging (even though I am only 1 blog young) and there are a LOT of people who have both inspired me, and whose talent is quite amazing!

My feeling is (and correct me if Im going on a tangent) focus on each person's top skill and see where we can use this to make a change. If Emergen can find a cause, where we can collectively stand as a united front and work on one project, it could give way to more opportunity and make the Emergen group a substantial body for emerging professionals.

Just a thought to channel our conversations and meet ups to a focussed goal and maybe something that we can be proud of!

Let me know what you feel,

Fay D

Wow Fay - those are some fantastic ideas! I love them all. We really need to get together and brainstorm some of these! They would be ideal to discuss during the 'Day of Action' Alicia is planning (I hope I got that right Alicia!!!). J

I would come. But would pass on the cheese. Jane can have mine and I will drink her wine. ;-)

Would be alright if there were non-dairy nibbles on the menu as well for people like me...maybe non alcoholic wine for the Janes of the world.

Either way good conversations are always welcome...
