Experience the cerebral feast of a lifetime at fastBREAK!
This monthly series of rapid-fire interactive talks served on the last Friday of each month mixes innovation into every recipe on the fastBREAK menu. Each event hosts five savvy young creative thinkers who transform five minutes into an idea delicacy using the top-notch ingredients of creativity, commercialisation, collaboration, connections and conversation. What's stopping you? - Celebrating International Women's Month! Thought and action are two separate entities that command cohabitation. Had the females leading the suffrage movement in 1895 simply pondered the idea of voting rights, government as we know it today would not exist. The time has come yet again to ask what, if any, hurdles are left in the path of modern women? Featuring: Zoe Lamont- Founder of the 10thousand girl Campaign, an initiative to encourage young women with current income streams to proactively set their life and finances up for the future. Her eye-opening experiences living and working abroad have ignited her mission to see a fairer distribution of wealth, power, knowledge, and love through social initiatives and enterprises promoting positive change. Alicia Freile- Design Director of Tango Media, a boutique graphic design company that combines creative elements from American and Australian publishing industries. Alicia's uncanny skills and 12 years of experience enable her to effectively lead her unique team of international designers. Louise Helliwell and Alex DeBonnis- Developed online blog: Tough Titties, a site dedicated to empowering women and celebrating their accomplishments. Showcasing Australian female talent, Tough Titties serves as a platform for women to connect with others to share and exchange creative thoughts and initiatives. Brigid Dixon- Chairperson of the Young UN Women Australia Sydney Committee. This dynamic organisation unites a diverse range of men and women dedicated to developing women's leadership abilities and promoting female involvement across prominent sectors of Sydney's community. Leanne Townsend- CEO of the NSW Reconciliation Council, a board of Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians committed to continuing the acts of reconciliation. Leanne leads this growing organisation as it advocates for widespread change through recognition of rights, economic independence and social justice for Indigenous people. Tickets are $10 and include a delicious breakfast from Black Star Pastry. BOOK NOW: http://www.powerhousemuseum.com/bookings/fastbreak.php |
